From Business Operations to Life Operations

Simple systems that preserve independence—and reduce family stress.

A unified system for daily living

Why I Do This Work

  • The Operator Mindset

12+ years building systems that keep complex organizations running smoothly.

  • The Reality Check

Even strong families crumble when support becomes "a bunch of random moving parts."

  • The Personal Mission

Supporting my grandmother through Parkinson’s taught me: Fragmentation creates avoidable stress.

Care + Logistics
My Job: Build "Life Operations" so older adults stay independent and families stop living in crisis mode.

The Problem Isn’t "No Help"

Most members have help. The problem is that help is uncoordinated.

The "Life Ops" Framework

A simple operating system for aging in place—built for clarity, calm, and dignity.

1

Coordination

One page. Clear roles. Clear handoffs. Everyone knows the plan.

2

Tech Integration

Less friction. More connection. Safety tools that actually get used.

3

Preventive Systems

Simple triggers (Green/Yellow/Red) so problems don’t surprise you.

Tool #1: The One-Page Coordination Map

The 4 Golden Questions

  • WHO owns it? (Primary + Backup)
  • WHAT is the routine? (Tue/Thu at 2pm)
  • WHAT does "done" mean? (The handoff)
  • IF it goes wrong… THEN what?

Example: Grocery Delivery
"Done" means groceries are put away, fridge checked, and a text sent to the daughter.

Tool #2: Tech Made Simple

We don’t rely on "new apps." We set up easy, physical habits.

Connection

3-5 favorites pinned to the home screen. "One tap to call."

Passwords

One safe physical method (The "Red Folder"). Not sticky notes.

Safety

The "Pause Rule." Don't act on a text/email immediately. Verify first.

Simplicity = Safety

Tool #3: The Support Ladder

How to decide: Do we need a volunteer, family, or a pro?

🟢
GREEN: Mostly Independent

Best for routine life. Needs light reminders & occasional rides.

🟡
YELLOW: Needs Coordination

Multiple moving parts (doctors, house tasks). Needs a clear plan + weekly check-ins.

🔴
RED: Needs a Point Person

Frequent changes, high risk, or confusion. Needs a dedicated professional coordinator.

Next Steps

  1. Map your support: Who does what today?
  2. Spot the gap: Where does help break down?
  3. Pick one upgrade: A map, simplified tech, or the ladder.
